Oct 2, 2022 - Residents at Lakeside Terrace Supportive Living.ca facility were treated to an end of summer barbecue by the parishoners at Wainfleet Be in Christ Church. The BBQ was planned as part of a Serve Weekend where the entire congregation from the church was invited to serve their local community. Their life group is dedicated to helping many groups, including the residents at SupportiveLiving.ca in Port Colborne.
Heather Osbourne, the group leader, was onsite with her fellow parishioners along with SupportiveLiving.ca staff to serve Lakeside Terrace residents with an array of BBQ food, drinks and dessert. She was previously a member at St. James and St, Brendan Church, another organization who has donated food on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day to Lakeside Terrace before the pandemic.
Heather commented, “Our desire is to be the hands and feet of Christ as we serve those in need in our community. It was a pleasure to see the smiles from the residents and the staff was so helpful and appreciative as well.”
