June 9, 2020 - Pastor Otis and his band, from Living Waters Fellowship in Niagara Falls, did not let COVID-19 stop them from visiting Lakeside Terrace and Humberstone Manor Supportive Living homes to spread cheer, blessings and entertainment to our residents. The Pastor set up his entertainment in the parking lots of both homes and entertained socially-distanced residents with songs, and prayers of support and encouragement. SupportiveLiving would like to thank Pastor Otis for coming out to spread cheer and kindness.
One of our residents, Ruth B. was particularly excited and thankful for the Pastor’s visit. “The weather is beautiful and it gives us a good reason to enjoy his sermon.”
Despite the government’s announcement on June 11 that they are ‘cautiously’ allowing family visitation to retirement and long term homes but simultaneously warning of a second wave of the virus, SupportiveLiving has chosen to keep strict quarantine measures in place to ensure the safety of their front line workers and residents. And as a result, we understand the effects of isolation due to COVID-19 and continue to work with our community partners to support the mental health needs of our residents.
